Feather spiral at sunset

Where the river joins the lake it slows enough to drop the tons of sand it has brought down from the high mountains. An estuary evolved with lovely golden sands where the migrating birds ( Gulls , Terns and Geese mostly ) love to gather and gossip. They had been doing a lot of preening and there were handfuls of snowy feathers dancing across the sands.

Finding a quiet cove I carved out a spiral and lined the edge with feathers. The shadows got longer as the earth turned (Terned? heheeee) and the feathers began to glow pink and gold. Just before the sun dropped behind the distant mountains, the source of this very river, I snapped a final shot. A good day.
