Eclipsed Full moon

Hi Everyone,

I have not been posting as often recently because we are finally having some good weather and I have a LOT of catching up to do in terms of making sculptures. But tonight was very special... it was the final of a trio of eclipses that we've been treated to this summer. This was just to be a partial lunar eclipse, but it was a lovely moonrise anyway even if the Earth's shadow was not very obvious.

I have a dear friend who lives in a beautiful spot over-looking the lake and so I created a simple sculpture and she helped me hang it in the big tree that sits on the edge of the property... then we waited for the moon to arrive. It was very veiled when it first rose, and the first few shots were not very promising because it was so pale and faint... but then it got above the thin layer of clouds and really started to cast it's magical glow across the still waters and we were treated to a beautiful, soft evening viewing until it rose up into the higher clouds and disappeared.

What a lovely time!!

Sally, your latest eclipse moon sculpture/photo is fantastic. The image says to me, "I am within the whole" with how the reflection of the moon on the lake is like the bottom of a little i and the moon itself is the dot on the i, and the sculpture is the whole that the i is within. Thank you for sharing it with us.
